In the early hours of December 1, 2024, a serious collision occurred on Highway 401 in Clarington, Ontario, involving a car and a transport truck. The incident took place around 3:25 a.m. in the westbound lanes near Courtice Road. According to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the transport truck was decelerating due to traffic conditions when it was rear-ended by the car, causing the latter to lose control.
