Fatal Snowmobile Crash in Severn Township Under Investigation

Police are investigating a fatal snowmobile crash that occurred in Severn Township on Friday night. According to the Orillia OPP, officers, Simcoe County Paramedics, and Severn firefighters were dispatched just before 11 p.m. after receiving a report of the incident near St Amant Road and Quarry Road.

Upon arrival, first responders identified the victim as a 40-year-old rider from Durham Region, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The sudden and tragic loss has left family, friends, and the community in mourning.

Authorities have mobilized the OPP’s Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement Team, alongside The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario, to conduct a thorough investigation into the crash.
