A 25-year-old man was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The officer involved was also taken to the hospital as a precaution.
In a news release, police stated, "The OPP has ensured that victim services have been engaged to support the man’s family. Resources have also been made available for the officer involved."
Muskoka Road 169 is currently closed between Sutton Drive and Bala Falls Road as the investigation continues.
Due to the involvement of an officer, the province’s Special Investigations Unit has invoked its mandate.
